Allo and Duo Could Be Integrated in The Future

Two of Google’s year, Allo, and Duo communication applications, are now available for download. One simplifies video calling and the other makes use of the Google Wizard for enhance your conversations with the “mind” of Google.

However, something wrong with the whole thing. Google Duo does not allow you to send any kind of message text your contacts, and Google Allo does not allow you to make calls or video calls. The most logical thing is that both applications integrate in some way as Facebook does with Facebook Messenger, but such integration to our confusion was not present at the launch. Could it be that we see it later.

An integration that makes sense

Both Allo and Duo are based on phone numbers, both yours as your contacts, so the list of contacts in both applications (apart from the Message Preview exceptions) should be technically the same. It should not be by much too hard that button in Allo you could make a video calls via Duo, or write text via Allo in the middle of a call from Duo.

Common sense is not synonymous with that will be as well, but unless we also have the approval of the engineer of Google Justin Uberti, that is very active on Twitter talking about Allo and Duo, collecting feedback and giving us information from behind the camera. In one of these tweets, it responds to the question of “Allo need buttons for calls and video calls. It would be great if you could link to Duo”, with a”quite”.

That it makes sense and so looks like it is someone with power to make decisions are two very important points, although the list of requests for the community to improve Allo is so extensive that everything will depend on the resources and the importance that are you a this integration so that will see it sooner or later. The same Justin Uberti personally congratulated those who understood that Allo is a version 1.0 that will improve a few days ago.

And a special 👍 to those who asked for a feature, but understood that Allo v1 is just that: 1.0 product that will improve every few weeks.

Following in the theme of integration, it is necessary to remember that Allo or Duo are integrated into the Google Contacts API, so you could start chats or video calls from contacts information, as if with WhatsApp or Skype.
