4.4 Android (KitKat) is said to be the most widely used version, a little overcome 4.1 Android (Jelly Bean) as we have seen in the new distribution of updates that Google just released this month of September.
These new data that have been collected over a period of seven days and ending yesterday day 9, we see that practically one of every four Android devices are already 4.4 Android (KitKat), in particular with the 24.5% market share, staying for very little as the second most widely used version. It again becomes the fastest growing, last month had 20.9%.
The most widely used version of Android is still 4.1 Android (Jelly Bean) but this month with the 25.1% (formerly 26.5%) with what the month coming, barring surprises, will be exceeded by KitKat.
In third place we see that the most used version is Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with the 20.7% (formerly 19.8) followed already by far for the very old version Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with 11.4% (13.6% before). Fifthly, we see Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with 9.6% (before 10.6%) and sixth the not-so-old version of Android 4.3 with 8% (before 7.9%). Android 2.2 (Froyo) is maintained with 0.7%.
