With 1920×1080 pixel display, 2 GB of RAM and octa-core processor, Vibe K5 is below thousand reais
Lenovo unveiled on Wednesday (30) Vibe K5, according smartphone company in the Brazilian market. The device is slightly less than the Vibe A7010, which marked the debut of the Chinese in the country. With 5-inch screen, octa-core Snapdragon processor 616 1.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, it is below the psychological line of thousand real – time is that we do not see theleast interesting phones being launched by this value.
Vibe K5 competes in the intermediate segment, being slightly above the Moto G 3rd generation. The screen is an IPS LCD of 5 inches with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and there are cameras of 13 MP (rear) and 5 MP (front), plus 2 GB of RAM. Regarding the brother of Motorola, Lenovo bet on more battery (2,750 mAh) and Android with custom interface and additional resources, even in the old version 5.1 Lollipop.
During the press conference, Lenovo publicly assured that both the Vibe K5 (outside known as Vibe Plus K5) as the Vibe A7010 will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but has not yet reported a forecast release.
As in Vibe A7010, Lenovo includes stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, which improves the audio quality and increases the volume. Another software difference is that the company is giving the option to choose between the launcher Lenovo (without application tray) and the native Android option, more like that used in phones from Motorola.
Inspired by the best practices of Motorola, Lenovo says it does not put bloatwares on their devices, but the vibe K5 brings more than pure experience of Android, as well as the Vibe A7010 – there is an application themes, for example, and the software camera has been modified to include new options such as a beautifying mode and the ability to take selfies making a gesture of “v” with your fingers.
The design is not impressive, especially compared to the vibe A7010. Vibe K5 brings a carcass with “premium aluminum finish” in the words of Lenovo, but without much sophistication – and even has some details like the chrome edges, which immediately makes me remember the low cost devices from Samsung.
The Brazilian model supports two 4G chips and 16 GB of storage, priced at $ 999, in silver, graphite and gold. It will be marketed from this Wednesday (30) in retail and online store Lenovo. The manufacturer will also sell two special editions of Vibe K5 from the “coming weeks”, which will have the JBL headset, transparent dust cap and film to protect the screen.
