According to Baglib, Anguilla is an island located in the Caribbean Sea, east of Puerto Rico and north of Saint Martin. It is part of the Lesser Antilles and is the most northerly of the Leeward Islands. It has a total area of 35 square miles, making it one of the smallest islands in the Caribbean. The island consists mostly of flat and low-lying land, with some hills in its central part. Its coastline is ringed with white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and cays. Its highest point is Crocus Hill at 65 meters above sea level.
The climate in Anguilla is tropical marine, with temperatures rarely falling below 22°C or rising above 33°C. Mountains

Rivers
The island of Anguilla is home to several major rivers, including the Salt River, Long Bay River, and East End River. The Salt River is the largest on the island and runs for about 6 miles from its source in Stoney Ground Pond to its mouth at Sandy Ground Pond. With a maximum width of 50 feet, this river is an important source of freshwater for the island’s inhabitants.
Long Bay River is another major river on Anguilla. This river begins near Island Harbour and empties into Long Bay near Crocus Hill. It has a total length of 4 miles and a maximum width of 25 feet. As it flows through the island, it passes through lush tropical forests filled with exotic wildlife.
The East End River originates in East End Pond and flows into Shoal Bay near Rendezvous Bay. This river has a total length of 5 miles and a maximum width of 20 feet. Along its course, it passes through residential areas as well as some agricultural land where crops such as mangoes are grown. The East End River also provides an important habitat for various species of birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.
The other major rivers on Anguilla include the Valley Stream which runs from South Hill to Island Harbour; the North Stream which runs from Valley Stream to Island Harbour; and the Western Stream which runs from Stoney Ground Pond to Sandy Ground Pond via Crocus Hill. All these rivers are important sources of freshwater for Anguilla’s inhabitants as well as providing habitats for various species of wildlife found on the island.
Lakes
Anguilla is home to many picturesque lakes that are surrounded by lush vegetation. The largest and most notable lake is the Shoal Bay Pond, located in the northern part of the island. It has a maximum depth of 11 feet and an area of approximately 1.5 square miles. The lake is filled with a variety of waterfowl, including ducks, geese, and swans. It’s an ideal spot for bird watching or just taking in the beauty of nature. Other notable lakes on Anguilla include Little Bay Pond, Long Bay Pond, Long Creek Pond, and North Hill Pond. Little Bay Pond has a maximum depth of 6 feet and covers 0.5 square miles while Long Bay Pond has a maximum depth of 10 feet and covers 0.7 square miles. Long Creek Pond has a maximum depth of 10 feet and covers an area of 0.25 square miles while North Hill pond is the smallest lake on Anguilla with a maximum depth of 8 feet and covering just 0.15 square miles in area.
