Go with the family on a camping holiday along Australia’s east coast. Surf Bondi Beach, discover Australia’s wildlife and snorkel on the world’s largest coral reef. Australia is a country located in Oceania according to globalsciencellc.
Australia’s fantastic wildlife. The major cities of Sydney and Brisbane and long white sandy beaches. Time for relaxation – and freedom to go on adventures. This Australia trip is the perfect combination of big city and nature, terrestrial and aquatic animals and the freedom of road trip in a camper!
The journey begins with a few days in Sydney with time to explore the city and private surfing lessons at the legendary Bondi Beach. From Sydney you fly to Brisbane and then follow 14 days as you drive yourself in a mini camper along the beautiful Australian east coast from Brisbane to Cairns where you can experience Australia’s unique wildlife, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Island, Queenslands Outback, Whitsunday Islands, Aboriginal culture and the world’s oldest rainforest.
A mini camper is something in between a car and a camper. There are 4 beds, but the price is almost the same as for a rental car, giving you and your family full freedom to spend the night in national parks, on campsites or maybe sometimes in motels.
In Cairns you have two nights booked, and a unique sailing experience on the Great Barrier Reef with the boat Ocean Free Sail. Here you can snorkel and experience the fantastic underwater wildlife.
Day 1: Departure from Scandinavia
Day 2: Arrival in Sydney
After arriving in Sydney you will go to your centrally located hotel. You have three nights in Sydney.
Day 3: Sydney on your own
The day is spent exploring Sydney. Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and Australia’s largest city. More than 4 million people live here, and the city is an enchanting and amazing experience. The Opera House is of course a great experience for most people who visit Sydney and is an absolute “must see”. Go on a guided tour here and find out how this architectural miracle was built. In the same area is Harbor Bridge. Here is a small museum about the construction of the bridge, and you can take the 200 steps to the top and look out over the city. The adventurous can climb the bridge. Next to the Opera House is the botanical garden, where eager exercisers run or cycle all day long. Make a lunch bag and enjoy lunch here, in the shade of a tree overlooking the harbor, the opera house and the bridge. It’s absolutely amazing.
Day 4: Surf lessons at Bondi Beach
The day begins with two hours of private surfing lessons at the legendary Bondi Beach. Surfing is for everyone and especially a good activity for children. There are plenty of opportunities to surf on the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane, and continue working on the techniques you get with you from the surfing lesson. After the lesson, you can rent surfboards and enjoy the day at Bondi Beach, or explore Sydney further.
Day 5: Flight from Sydney to Brisbane, pick up of motorhome
You travel from Sydney to Brisbane by air. In front of you you have 14 days full freedom, when you have picked up your camper and set course north.
Day 6-18: On their own against Cairns
The next few weeks will be spent driving from Brisbane to Cairns. The camper is handed over in Cairns, after which you check in at a hotel for the last two nights in Australia.
Day 19: Snorkeling trip on the Great Barrier Reef
You get the last great experience of Australian wildlife today, on the world’s largest coral reef. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the best places in the world for scuba diving and snorkeling. Thousands of colorful corals and fish live here, and even if you only snorkel, the experience is indescribable, because the reef is so close to the surface that you can see both corals and colorful fish.
