Lindsborg is definitely worth a visit for art lovers. The small town was founded by Swedish emigrants and developed into an artist colony.

In the city of Abilene, on the other hand, you can visit the house of Dwight D. Eisenhower, who grew up here and has been the only German-born US president to date.

There is also a lot to discover in Hutchinson, where there is a very interesting and extensive space museum, the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. Or you can visit the Kansas Underground Salt Museum, because Hutchinson is also considered the salt capital. There is a considerable layer of salt at a depth of 400 meters.

Those looking for the western experience are in the right place in Dodge City, the western city par excellence. It is located on the Santa Fe Trail, an old trade route that was secured by Fort Larned, among other things. The fort is now one of the most exciting open-air museums in the state.

In addition to culture, there are also numerous nature experiences, such as the endless prairies, which are particularly good to experience on the Flint Hills Scenic Byway, or the Kansas Wetlands, a large wetland area that is ideal for bird and game viewing.
