This article presents the 50 largest companies in the world according to their revenues in 2017, listed in descending order.

Most of the companies present in this ranking are from the US and China

The Fortune Global 500 is an annual ranking that lists the world’s largest companies based on their market value. According to the ranking released in 2017, the largest company in the world in terms of revenue is the hypermarket Walmart, an American multinational founded in 1962 and which currently has around 11,000 stores in 27 countries. In total, Walmart has 2.3 million employees and in 2017 generated revenues of US$485.873 million.

The second place is occupied by State Grid, a Chinese company dedicated to energy production and which in 2017 had revenues of US$315.199 million. The podium of the largest companies in the world closes with another Chinese company, Sinopec Group, an oil company that generated revenues of 267.518 million dollars.

Most of the companies present in this ranking are from the USA and China, with the first European company coming in 6th place, with the German Volkswagen. Oil, banking and automotive companies are the most represented.
