Brunei is a very small, but very rich country (oil) and is surrounded by Malaysia. The north is on the South China Sea. The climate is tropical, due to its location just above the equator. Winter is not in Brunei’s dictionaries: it is always 30°C and warmer during the day. It is also very stuffy due to the high humidity. Tropical showers are plentiful, especially in the months of September through January. The best time to travel is in the drier season, which runs from February to May.
