Burundi is a small country located just below the equator, northeast of Lake Taganjika. The climate is tropical, but because the landscape is covered with hills and mountains, it is not scorching hot. It is also not an extremely humid country. The average annual temperature is around 29°C. It is of course colder in the mountains. Burundi does not have a real summer and winter period. There is a dry period. This is short and runs from June to August, which is the best time to travel. Check a2zgov for Burundi government and politics.
