Ghana is located in West Africa, just above the equator and on the Gulf of Guinea. The climate is tropical. In the south it is humid and warm, averaging 30°C. Towards the north, the influence of the Sahel increases: it is warmer and drier there. The rainy season runs from May to September. Ghana is not an extremely wet country. The humidity is greatest in the southwest, where most tropical vegetation can be found. The best time to travel is in the dry, but warmest period: November to April.
