Nigeria is located in West Africa, just above the equator and on the Gulf of Guinea. The climate is tropical. The rainy season roughly runs from April to October. The further north you go in Nigeria, the drier it gets. The vegetation changes with the amount of precipitation: tropical rainforest in the south and savannah in the north. The best time to travel is in the dry season, from November to March.
