The equator runs right through the Republic of Congo, also known as Congo-Brazzaville. The country is located west of Congo-Kinshasa (formerly Zaire). There is a tropical climate. It is hot and stuffy and it rains a lot. One third of the country lies above the equator. The dry season runs from December to February.
