Togo is located just above the equator on the Gulf of Guinea and has a tropical climate. The temperature is between 27 and 33°C all year round. The rainy season is long and runs from April to October. In the south on the coast it is dry for a month in August. The trade wind blows there from July to September. In the north, the Harmattan, a treacherous desert wind, blows in December and January. After the rainy season comes the warm period, which runs from November to May.
