Uruguay is one of the smaller countries of South America and is located in the southeast of the continent, on the Atlantic coast. The climate is subtropical, which makes the country suitable for a visit all year round. In January the average daytime temperature is around 30°C, in June it is still a good place with 17°C. Rain falls all year round, but rarely more than 100 millimeters per month. In the west, near the border with Argentina, it is a bit drier between June and September.
