Chapel hill
Chapel Hill. In Spanish The Chapel Hill. It is a town in North Carolina and home to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), the oldest state university in the US Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh form the three corners of the Research Triangle, so called in 1959.
Geography
It is located at 35 ° 54′26 ″ N 79 ° 03′00 ″ W; Southeast corner of Orange County, with municipal boundaries slightly within Durham County to the East and Chatham County to the South. It has a shared term to the West with the city of Carrboro, and to the East with the city of Durham. The city has a total area of 51.3 km 2 ; 51.2 km 2 of which are land and 0.2 km 2 of them (0.35%) are water.
History
The city center sits on a hill, originally called “La Capilla de Nueva Esperanza” because of the chapel that was there. The “Carolina Inn” (Carolina Inn), currently occupies the site of the original chapel.
In 1819, the city was founded to serve the University of North Carolina and developed around it. The city was recognized in 1851, and its main street, Franklin Street, was named in memory of Benjamin Franklin.
In 1968 it became the first municipality in the country to elect an African-American mayor, Howard Lee.

According to the 2000 census, it had a population of 48,715 residents. In 2004, a population of 52,440 residents was estimated.

Conroe (Texas)
Conroe is a city located in Montgomery County in the US state of Texas. In the 2010 Census it had a population of 56,207 residents and a population density of 408.16 people per km².
Geography
Conroe is located at coordinates 30 ° 18′58 ″ N 95 ° 28′12 ″ W. According to the United States Census Bureau, Conroe has a total area of 137.71 km², of which 136.53 km² correspond to the mainland and (0.86%) 1.18 km² is water.
Education
The Conroe Independent School District operates public schools.
