Shopping in Vietnam
Shopping in Vietnam has two advantages: an extensive selection of goods and some of the lowest prices in the entire region (need to bargain with sellers). Most shops are open daily, seven days a week, from early morning to late evening. Some large shops and supermarkets located in the capital and nearby cities are open around the clock. If you come to Vietnam, the shops and other shopping establishments here are definitely worth a visit.
Recommended purchases for shopping in Vietnam include the following:
- Products made of silver, lacquer, pearls, mother-of-pearl, bamboo, black and mahogany;
- Clothes and various accessories made of cotton, linen and silk;
- Gold items. For example, in Ho Chi Minh City you can buy gold at nice prices;
- Spices, in particular black pepper from Fukuoka;
- Aozai national costume, represented by a long shirt dress with slits, as well as trousers (which are usually sewn to order). Relevant for women;
- Crockery, including ceramic, especially handmade.
Remember: the price of the product you like can be significantly reduced if you know how to bargain correctly, while remaining polite and friendly in the eyes of sellers.
