EU citizens do not need a work permit to work in Poland. However, it should be noted that a residence permit must be made if you stay in Poland for more than 3 months.

According to countryvv, the gross minimum wage has been PLN 2,250 (approx. € 530) since 2019. The industry differences are huge. Child benefit depends on the age of the child. If the child is up to 5 years old, the amount of child benefit is 95 zloty, between 6 and 18 years old 124 zloty and between 19 and 23 years old 135 zloty. For single parents there is 193 zloty per child, with a maximum of 386 zloty for all children.

In addition to looking for a job on site, speculative applications are the best way to get a job in Poland. Many have used the opportunity of an internship to pave the way for later employment with a company.

The unemployment rate was 3.3% in December 2020. In many industries and companies there is a shortage of skilled workers, so that more and more skilled workers from abroad are being used. This applies, for example, to engineers, construction workers, commercial specialists, doctors and nurses.

Cost of living

The cost of living is around half cheaper than in Germany.

You would need around € 2,737.38 in Warsaw to maintain the standard of living that you could have in Berlin with € 3,700.00 (assuming you rent in the cities).

Emigration and Living in Poland

Emigration is only recommended for retirees, entrepreneurs, managers and a few professional groups. There are some very attractive areas. If you want to live here, you should at least master the basics of Polish. Some advantages of the country: easy immigration (as EU), low cost of living (LHK-I 57.3), German is a recognized minority language.
